Welcome to Reception

Our Reception teacher is Miss Dutton who is supported by Mrs Leah (Teaching Assistant). We are lucky to also have Mrs Carr, Miss Turner and Mrs Noga to help us in our learning throughout the week. Our sports coaches teach us PE on a Tuesday.

We have lots of fun in Reception as we learn through play. At the beginning of the year we make new friends with the children who have joined us from other nurseries but after a few weeks we are working as one happy family.

Although we aren't quite big enough to join the whole school for assembly, we do celebrate Harvest and Christmas with the nursery children. During the Spring term, we have fun carrying out an Easter egg hunt, and in the Summer term, we run as fast as we can on Sports Day.

Throughout our school day, we learn both in and outside. The children, for example, like to dig in the mud and find worms of various sizes or spend time steering in and out of each other on the bikes.

The Reception children are well looked after by their Buddies from Year 6 who keep a gentle eye on them on the playground, at lunch time, and as they move around the school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me at the end of the school day.

Thank you for your continued support.

Miss Dutton

Take a look at some our Spring Term activities !!!!

The children have spent time with Mrs Noga. She explained how Easter is celebrated in her home country of Poland. The children explored symbols which related to a Polish Easter such as sugared lambs but also noted similarities as they shared their knowledge about an English Easter. The boys and girls spoke confidently about the palm leaves, eggs and the Easter basket. ,
