Welcome to Year 5

Our class teacher is Mrs Roberts and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Williams. We are also lucky to have Madame Peters teaching us French, Mr Dewsnip teaching us PE, and Fran Sixsmith teaching us to play the keyboard.

Year 5 is an exciting year where we aim high and love learning! We are in Upper Key Stage 2 so we should be setting a great example to the rest of the school.

Important things to remember:

  • PE is currently on a Tuesday - please ensure your child has a labelled PE kit in school every day.
  • Keyboard lessons are on a Thursday morning with Fran Sixsmith.
  • Homework is handed out on a Friday and should be returned the following Thursday. Please ensure their homework is presented to a high standard. If your child is having any problems with their homework, please ask me for help as soon as possible.
  • Spellings go out on a Friday and they are tested the following Friday.
  • It is really important that your child reads regularly - they should all read at least three times each week. Discussing the book with your child will develop reading comprehension skills too.
  • Please help your child learn times tables up to 12x12. Hit the Button is a great game to help with this.

If you have any questions or concerns, please see me at the end of the school day.

Thank you for your ongoing supporrt,

Mrs Roberts
