Welcome to Year 1

Home Learning

Good morning year 1! This is our final week of home learning! I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your faces on Monday, are you excited to see your friends again? Keep going, you've done amazing so far and just days to go.

Please upload everything that you complete on Seesaw and I'll look forward to marking your work and catching up with you all! Don't forget to read your books set on Reading Planet and complete the quiz at the end so I can see how fantastic you've done.

Our Class information

Our class teacher is Miss Rowland and we are so lucky to have Mrs Carr too! Year 1 is a really exciting and busy year. We are developing our skills taught in Reception and becoming more independent in our learning. We have lots of fun while we learn!

  • PE is currently on a Monday and Thursday. You can send your child to school on these days in their full PE kit or ensure they have a labelled PE kit in school.
  • Homework is set on a Friday on Seesaw and is expected to be completed by the following Wednesday. They will receive spellings linked with their Phonics and either Maths or English each week. If your child is having any problems with their homework, please ask me for help as soon as possible.
  • It is really important that your child reads regularly to improve their fluency and comprehension skills. Please could you listen to your child read every day for at least 5 minutes. Reading has a massive impact on your child’s academic progress in almost all subjects. Reading books will be given out every Monday and are to be returned on a Thursday.

If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to me at the end of the school day.
