Golden Rules

At Our Lady’s we believe that promoting positive behaviour is paramount to a successful learning environment.
We celebrate that every child is special and unique and we help our children to understand their own emotions and feelings as well as accepting others beliefs and feelings even if they are different from their own.

We have six Golden Rules that staff and pupils have agreed upon which form a code of behaviour, these are to:
•    We respect
•    Listen to Other
•    Be Gentle and kind
•    Take care of the environment
•    Be Honest
•    Say sorry and forgive

We encourage our children to show independence and develop a sense of responsibility. Our ultimate aim is to develop children’s self-discipline so that they behave with care, courtesy, good manners and showing a respect for others and the environment.

On Friday mornings, we have a whole school Celebration Assembly where children from each class are awarded with a certificate. They might be praised for a variety of different things ranging from producing an excellent piece of work in any area of development or subject, outstanding behaviour or settling into school well. We always praise effort as well as achievement.
